Capitalizing on Opportunities in Times of
The RTM Higher Education Academics Congress is a premier gathering for Provosts from institutions across the country who are looking to capitalize on the possibilities presented by new trends in the industry. New models of teaching and learning, learner-centric environments, re-defining workforce development, increasing accessibility for the 21st century student, and a shift in enrollment trends pose new challenges, but also ample possibilities.
As new technology platforms are put in place, it is less costly to take any process online, to re-allocate and evaluate resources based on data analytics. This digital transition necessitates a shift in academic planning and strategy.
Graduates are asking to be more employable. This requires a re-evaluation of what skills are expected in the workplace. Higher education leaders are looking to leverage technology to support their students’ academic and career goals. Attending institutions are re-assessing some of their programs, providing technology training for faculty, adopting new instructional tools and pedagogical approaches and doubling the number or wireless access points across campus.
Senior Leadership must work together in this environment to prevent problems and recommend strategies to their peers. Alternative funding models must be considered to support new strategies. Industry influencers have the power to gather around new models that allow every institution to leverage their alliances for academic success.
Is your team fostering an environment that provides a clear path to graduation to all students? Is your institution devoting resources to academic e-portfolios? Are you able to offer new online courses? Can you accommodate the needs of adult learners who work full time? How do we ensure that graduates have the desirable skills for employers in their field?
This “Think Tank” congress is an invitation-only, exclusive opportunity for Senior Academic Leaders who are committed to transforming Higher Education. As Universities and Community Colleges strive to improve learning outcomes, provide faculty support and design new courses, a new mindset must be in place as fertile ground for changes. Internal buy-in and alignment of goals between departments will impact Academic Affairs.
It is a crucial time for leaders look to their peers to share best practices and models of excellence. The RTM Higher Education Congress' unique blend of Strategy Sessions, Keynote Panels, Collaborative Roundtables and Private Business Meetings are conducive to addressing points to ponder, openly debating controversial issues and taking away ideas that can be put into action. Every conversation, strategic discussion and technology purchase should culminate in an attainable vision for student achievement. We strive to work with and listen to our Delegates and partners to make that vision a reality.
